Message from the Superintendent
The Montana Coaches Association has announced their “Academic All-State” awards. In order for a student athlete to be awarded this high honor they must be a varsity athlete who earns a “Letter” in the sport and also earn a 3.5 GPA, or better, during the sport season. From the volleyball team Shanae Richey, Brittney Steele, Emily Malinak, Mariah Stoltz, Malia Curry, Mikayla Connelly, and Sydney Kuka received this honor. For the football team Garrett Christiaens, Tristan O’Neal, Sean Brownell, and Keegan Widhalm qualified. Congratulations to our students for their impressive academic commitment and achievement.
Congratulations to the 18 FCCLA students who participated at the district conference. We would like to thank Mrs. Jill Espeseth for taking on the program as our new Family Consumer Science teacher. Mrs. Habel has been a great help keeping the program going by taking on the duties last year as well as helping Mrs. Espeseth transition into the advising duties. This year’s new FCCLA District President is Garrett Christiaens and the new District Vice-President is Mariah Stoltz. The Valier team also won the Knowledge Bowl Competition and the travelling trophy for the state service project.
This year’s Christmas concerts will be on Monday and Tuesday December 9th and 10th in the multi-purpose room. The Kindergarten through Grade 5 concert will be at 7:00PM on Monday, and the Grades 6-12 concert will be at 7:00PM on Tuesday. We are looking forward to a wonderful night of music and entertainment.
All-conference awards for the fall season were recently given out. For volleyball, Britney Steele was selected for first team all conference and Mariah Stoltz was selected for second team all-conference. Thank you to all the athletes for their participation and hard work, and thank you to the community for all your support during the season.
The high school basketball season started with the first practice on November 25th. The first games will be on December 12th at the CJI tournament. Please come and support the local teams.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
