Message from the Superintendent
The end of the year is just about here, and the warm weather has finally arrived. There are numerous activities happening throughout the district which will make for a fast and furious end of the year.
The swimming pool will be ready for P.E. classes on May 5th. Once again, we will be having swimming lessons this summer with information being sent out soon once it is finalized. Anyone interested in being a lifeguard can contact the office here at the school.
This year’s girl state delegates are Monica Suek and Jessica Peterson. The girls will be traveling May 31st to Carroll College to participate in activities on how our government works and developing leadership skills. Congratulations girls!
Spring sports have started and the high school students are enjoying track, golf, and girl’s tennis. There are 9 track participants, 7 golf participants, and 3 participants for girl’s tennis. The students are working hard and looking forward for some better spring weather. Junior high track has also started with 11 students participating.
This year’s graduation will be held May 24th in the VHS gymnasium. The ceremony will start at 2 PM, and we invite everyone to come to honor our graduating seniors. Thank you seniors for all your hard work.
Valier will be hosting the District II Student Council Spring Conference on April 29th starting at 8:30 a.m. Area schools will be attending with approximately 100 students being involved in the activities. The first keynote speaker is Rebecca Johns who will help carry out the theme of balanced lives, better leaders. Ms. Johns is a professional life coach with experience in teaching, consulting, facilitating, and coaching. Her goal is to help leaders create a positive change in their organizations to help lead sustainable lives. The second speaker will be Janelle Nelson who works as an administrator in the medical field and works as a volunteer to collect medical supplies for the Philippines. We are looking forward to a fun and productive conference.
We have now started the second half of our last quarter of school for the 2013-2014 school year. Overall, it has been a productive year and the staff of Valier Public School considers it a privilege to serve such good students.
ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
SEE YOU IN THE FALL!!
